Activist Songbook
Activist Songbook is a collection of 53 songs and raps to counteract hate and energize movements. The material is based on interviews of Asian American, immigrant and refugee organizers. The project began in Lenapehoking (Philadelphia) and continues in different cities with interviews, workshops and performances through the next United States.

First-time director Barb Lee goes deep into the intimate lives of two well-meaning families and shows the subtle challenges they face. One family is just beginning the process of adopting a baby from China and is filled with hope and possibility. The other family’s adopted Korean daughter is now 32 years old. Prompted by her adoptive mother’s terminal illness, she tries to create the bond they never had. The results are riveting, unpredictable and telling.

An investigation into the advent of the U.S. crack epidemic, Agents & Assets was originally developed and performed in Los Angeles in 2001. In 2002, it was remounted in Detroit, recast for the audience with a combination of LAPD members and Detroit residents from communities that had been heavily impacted by drugs and drug policy.
AKIMBO Dance Festival

The Allen County Common Threads Theater Project addressed issues of race, leadership, and water resources that divided public officials and residents of Ohio’s Allen County. The goal was to engage a large cross-section of both city and county residents and leaders in dialogue about issues of “trust among leaders” and “respecting differences.” The project revolved around an extended residency by Sojourn Theatre and its artistic director, Michael Rohd.
