An outstanding civic leader known for his generosity, Morris Cafritz established the Foundation in 1948.

The Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life for residents of the Washington, DC area. It focuses on seven funding collaboratives to achieve these goals, including revitalizing and stabilizing low income neighborhoods; increasing education and opportunities for low-income children, youth, and adults; revitalizing and developing the workforce of Washington, DC; and addressing the growing need for HIV/AIDS education.
